Then I tried running the installation program that the Pro page points to again and it worked. I did some searching around and renamed every folder I could find related to Flickr, and renamed them to. I took a look at some of the posts at the link you provided and found a useful hint about a possibility that some stale data in a Flickr Uploadr related folder might by hiding out and causing a problem. Not sure what to tell you at this point, maybe someone else will come along with something. A recent update to the uploadr required this. Initially, if your were using the more modern auto-uploader (not the 3.2.1), I think all you would have had to do was sign out of the auto-uploader and then sign in again. Maybe something in these threads will help:ģ.2.1 is never going to work as a fresh install, it has no way to authorize. There have been previous posts about the Windows Uploadr not working or installing. While it still worked for many years after, once you stopped using it, it would not work again. The 3.2.1 uploader was discontinued in 2009. So - despite my Pro account I am now without a desktop uploader. But when that uploadr is started up, it says permissions need to be added on the Flickr site so that the uploadr can sigh in, but does not give any indication of what permissions are needed or where to add them - hence the 3.2.1 version installs but I cannot get it to work either. No messages are displayed, no installation dialog launches, nothing happens.įYI I also shut down and restarted the laptop several times along the way, after uninstalling the older uploadr, and after several attempts to get another uploadr installed.īottom line is that the installer I downloaded today from the Pro page does not install the uploadr software.Īfter the exasperation of that failed installation, I searched and found another installer for version 3.2.1 (FlickrUploadr-3.2.1-2009.06.02.01-en.exe), which does install. I had downloaded the installation file that the Pro page links to (FlickrUploadrInstallr.exe), but when I attempt to run it, it does not start or complete the install. That led me to investigate and find the the Pro account page and a download link for the desktop uploadr, which I downloaded, then uninstalled the previous uploadr, then tried to install the new one using the installer I just downloaded. I allowed it to run for quite a long time, but it appeared to get stuck on the "processing" stage of the upload process. It went through its usual scan, appeared to complete that and appeared to start uploading photos, appeared to indicate that a photo had been uploaded and processed, but no new photos showed up on the web site. When I tried to use it today it tried unsuccessfully to upload more photos. However I cannot seem to get any version of the uploader to work (and in one case I cannot even get the downloaded installer to work).įYI, I previously had what I think was an older version of Uploadr installed, which had been working fine for quite some time, until I tried to use it today. I have a Pro account which says it includes a Desktop Uploader. Sharing Flickr pictures in Instagram is not workingīug?
